Responsibilities

#AscensionTechnologies is hiring a Clinical Informatics Manager to join our Tennessee team! At Ascension, you are empowered to work with patients, clinicians and consumers and use your clinical informatics skills to change the way we deliver care to those who need it most. Manages and coordinates clinical teams engaged in strategic planning and tactical implementation of clinical informatics technology systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage and lead a team across multiple hospitals in diverse geographical settings to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

  • Lead market-based team to excel and bring organizational value through workflow, change management, training, expert advising, and relational expertise.

  • Lead collaboration between Informatics, technical, clinical and operational teams so technology and practices focus on efficiency, standardized practice and patient safety.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with market leaders at various levels resulting in a dynamic where the partners consider the Manager their primary point of contact for technology interests and challenges.

  • Through trusted relationships, advise market partners in their technology interests via persuasion, influence, negotiation and compromise.

  • Manages team’s awareness of current societal and technological trends, issues and new developments.

  • Create a culture of ownership and accountability within the team.

  • Ensure the team approaches their work as problem solvers with an active role in resolution.

  • Serve as the primary point within the market for partners and team members to escalate technology problems with both projects and routine operations.

  • Collaborate with technical partners and peers throughout the larger Ascension organization

  • Oversee use of data and analytics to monitor the tools and technology in use.

  • Assures the clinical informatics team works together (Technology and local clinical teams) so new technology and new practices focus on efficiency, standardized practice and patient safety.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

  • 3 years of Clinical Informatics/EHR experience required, 5 years preferred

  • Leadership experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred

  • Experience with Cerner EHR

  • Experience in Workflow/process analysis and improvement, particularly related to healthcare IT
