Responsibilities
Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport
as part of the transport team.
Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacilityas part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.
Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record andcommunicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follows directives.
Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Drivers License credentialed from the Florida Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Licensed Paramedic credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Must be licensed and certified in FL and in additional states as applicable.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Certification specializing in ER Vehicle Operation preferred.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
