Please note: This position requires a Certified Educator specializing in Diabetes Management credentialed from the National Certification and a Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date. It is also strongly preferred that candidates have their certification in the Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE).

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.

• Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.

• Develop, implement and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilize methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.

• Serve as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.

• Participate in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire dateor job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board ofNursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtainedprior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Certified Educator specializing in Diabetes Management credentialed from the National CertificationBoard for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) preferred.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time ofhire.

Additional Preferences

Experience working with type 1 Diabetes in Pediatrics - preferred
