Responsibilities

Ascension Medical Group Lakeside Internal Medicine in St. Clair Shores, Michigan is looking for a full-time Internal Medicine physician to join their team.

Position Highlights:

  • Currently, there are three full-time, board certified Internal Medicine physicians and one part-time, certified Nurse Practitioner.

  • There is a convenient lab and x-ray services available at the Surgery Center which is on the same campus and a walkable distance from the practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities will be to see outpatient visits (18 years old and up) in the office.

  • One physician rounds on his own inpatients and the other two physicians admit to a Hospitalist Service for inpatient coverage at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

  • The new physician will be expected to provide 2 hours per week of office coverage during non-traditional hours (early start or late night) in order to increase patient access.

  • Certified Stroke Center with advanced certification by the Joint Commission. We specialize in neuro-endovascular treatments for acute stroke.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Preferred Credential(s):

• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Optometry (OD) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) required.

Additional Preferences

  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program

  • BE Internal Medicine or BC Internal Medicine preferred

  • 1-2 years recent and relevant experience as a Internal Medicine physician in a similar role a plus
