Responsibilities
Lead and direct risk management activities and resources.
Develop and implement systems, policies and procedures for the identification, collection and analysis of risk related information.
Collect, evaluate, and maintain data concerning patient injuries, complaints, claims, and other risk-related data.
Educate leadership, staff and physicians about risk management programs and their responsibilities to those programs.
Advise the organization in the design and implementation of risk reduction policies/protocols and programs within their own departments.
Investigate, analyze and report root causes, patterns, and trends that could result in compensatory or sentinel events, serious adverse events, and near misses.
Assist with identification and implementation of corrective action where appropriate.
Report all adverse events to appropriate regulatory and accrediting agencies as required.
Work with appropriate stakeholders to facilitate the initial investigation and processing of claims against the organization.
Manage activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
